In 2011, the Japan Graphic Designers Association initiated the “Handkerchiefs for Tohoku Children” exhibition showcasing original designs by its members. They were exhibited across Japan and worldwide. Sales of the handkerchiefs were given to the children living in the affected region.

This year part 2 of the exhibition continues. Some 200 children have also contributed their designs, and sale proceeds will be donated to these children for the purpose of rebuilding their communities.
