Stopper pop

[Chapter: Living]

The other night as I was opening a new 500ml-bottle of hydrogen peroxide, there was a sudden popping sound that rushed off the moment I raised the cap from the bottle. Quickly I searched the floor and found this plastic stopper. I wasn’t aware that it came with the 500ml. The smaller 100ml bottle which is what I usually buy is never sealed with such a stopper.

Soon, I pushed it back into the bottle again and stepped far away from it. *P-O-P* it went, after several minutes. Did some googling later and was informed that oxygen gas buildup made it pop. Reason? Left unopened for too long!
