On Mount Nebo in Jordan

This was what I saw at Mount Nebo, 10 kiliometers west of Madaba in Jordan, about 2700 feet above sea level. Mount Nebo was where God showed Moses a view of the Promised Land (Deuteronomy 34:1-7).

I remembered many of us were taking pictures of these special-looking trees.

[Update These are plants called Agave Americana 'Marginata'. Each thin stalk emerges from the centre of a succulent base and it's actually a part of the flowers which bloom on the branches at the top.
