Green tea from Fancl

4 09, 2008

A cup of hot green tea is what I look forward to everyday, specifically green tea from Fancl, a Nipponese brand that forbids the use of preservatives in everything they make.

Currently at SG$46.50 (price went up again!) for a box of 90 sachets, it’s costly. But it’s more consoling to me that each 90g-sachet costs 52 cents, which is cheaper than to order a cup of tea at a coffeeshop.

Fancl’s 100% green tea powder doesn’t make ‘pale yellow’ or ‘pale orange’ green tea, but ‘rich green’ green tea. And no bitter taste too. In my cup I would add a little bit of lemon, either juice, slice or jest which I keep them handy in the fridge. Some days I use orange instead. If my final drink at the end of the day is green tea (besides water), I would floss my teeth but skip brushing. Breath still smells fine the next day. :-)

They have introduced another kind which has germinated brown rice added to the green tea. I was given a sachet to try which I did and didn’t like it that much.

Each box of tea keeps no longer than 3 months.

I think it is pretty expensive for a tea, sure it must be good for that price; I understand why you skip brushing at night just in order to keep the sweet taste in your mouth till the morning, flossing is well enough.
