Eco chic: recycled float rope doormats

These float-rope doormats are handmade by crafters in Maine using ropes once used by local lobstermen to tether lobster traps.

Since the float-ropes are a threat to an endangered whale species, they are no longer allowed in the sea, and instead reclaimed and repurposed into hardy mats.
