Dual purpose

9 02, 2008

We hosted a little dinner party yesterday for my family where I prepared vermicelli with seafood as the main dish. And because carrots and baby dou miao (pea shoots) were part of the entourage, I thought I should have them displayed as the centerpiece on the dining table where they can also be eaten during the course of the meal….dual purpose #1

The carrots easily became orange plum blooms while the uncut portions were finely chopped and added to the vermicelli, so nothing is wasted….dual purpose #2

The cutter not only produced the blooms but provided a cosy vase for the baby dou miao…..dual purpose #3
