Chopsticks etc
Chopsticks are my preferred utensils, not because I’m a Chinese but because it’s just a preference. I can’t explain the pleasure derived from lifting food with sticks and neither am I able to explain ALL the enthusiasm demonstrated by designers who desire to make chopsticks an absolute pleasure for anyone to use!

Restless chopsticks [浮箸] from Plywood
The chopsticks are rest-less because they don’t have to rest. The tapered design ensures a hygienic distance between the tips and the dining surface. An award-winning creation by Mikiya Kobayashi. Available at Amazon.jp or Concierge (for my sg friends).

The hidden chopstick Stix eyewear by Brad Gressel

Spectacle arms turn chopsticks

Tukaani chopsticks by Lincoln Kayiwa
The design was inspired by a Toucan’s bill.

The Kitastick linking chopsticks can be linked together to guide those in need. Designed by Jani Martikainen and Risto Talonpoika.

A pair of Yan yan chopsticks has a hidden stainless steel coil spring at the intersection.

The ‘b-side’ fork + chopstick by Alessandro Busana

Pick up chopsticks by Stig Ahlström

3Way Chopsticks from RoboChris

Possibly the shortest pair of chopsticks

A kujira (whale) sponge from e-goods
Just had to show you what a whale mouth is for.

Wow! This is interesting! I didn’t know the simple chopsticks could have so many different designs and science behind it.

From tea and cake
I love chopsticks, too! After spending 3 weeks in China last year, I quickly got used to using them and wanted to continue on my return home. Unfortunately, I soon got out of the habit. But, you’ve found some lovely designs. K.
