Here’s a journal cover made with book pages from a thrifted book on butterflies. I also roped in pages from two other old book to decorate the inner pages.
On the cover I altered it to look a little weathered. I collaged a torn book page around the window frame as well as along the spine with a piece of pattern paper. I also combined woodgrain paper on the edge and as book corners. A little gold shimmer and blue metallic dots were added onto the cover.
There are more fun details on the inner pages as well. I used my sewing machine to attached portions of book pages to turn them into pockets. Printed some butterflies on my Selphy photo printer and fussy cut them, then had 3 of them sewn onto various places. That’s not all, I gathered some used stamps with butterflies and cut out the tiny images to glue them onto different spots. Finally a little colouring with coloured pencils was applied on the kraft-coloured patterned paper.
