Bunk beds etc

The thought of bunk beds conjure up many fond memories of my growing up years. We always had one in our house so as to make more space in the bedroom. The final one we had was a triple decker and I “lived” on the second floor, right until the night before my wedding day.

The nested bunk bed (inspired by nesting Russian dolls) is a space-saving bed system designed by Tsai Design Studio of Cape Town in South Africa.

The bed was named the Most Beautiful Object in South Africa at the Design Indaba Expo in February 2008. The beds are used in an Aids orphanage in Wellington, South Africa.
