Bloom before me: downstairs neighbour’s flowers
[Chapter: photo makeup]It was 6:30pm and I was going out for dinner to a coffeeshop on the ground floor of our apartment. Before taking the elevator, I don’t know why but I peeked over the parapet along the common corridor to take a glance below, that is despite knowing that there wasn’t anything much to see, except for a brick-reddish awning roof (belonging to the coffeeshop) and the trash it catches on top.
What I didn’t know was there would be a surprise that evening — some pink periwinkles, growing from a pot one floor below, were reaching out and literally looking up at me!

It felt like the periwinkles (along with the desert roses on the left) were there to help anyone forget about the filthy situation below, even if it’s just for a second.
I should have hurried down to ask the neighbour to come up to see her blooms in this pretty orientation!
