My friend shared this clip with me 2 days ago and I would like to share it with you too.
It plays the tune of a song titled “Sacrifice” (which is one of my favorites) by Bob Fitts with scenes from the movies ‘Abraham’ + ‘Passion of Christ’.
God gave Abraham and his wife a son when they were very old. One day God asked Abraham to go up to a mountain to sacrifice Issac, his son, as a burnt offering. Abraham was faithful to obey and when he was about to slay his own son, an angel of God stopped him.
God’s plan for a sacrifice was Jesus Christ and that sacrifice is to save us. The sacrifice on the cross didn’t end in death but victory over death because Christ rose from the dead.
This was the message back then and still is the message today and will always be.
I pray that this message of God’s love and redemption of man will touch your heart and bear significance in your life.
“And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.” Genesis 22:7-8

“Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
Saying, the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.” Luke 24:5-7
“And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him”
Matthew 27:31
Never was there such another procession as that which went along the Via Dolorosa that Good Friday morning. Jesus died that day for us.
“Under an eastern sky,
Amid a rabble cry,
A man went forth to die – For me.
“Thorn-crowned His blessed head,
Blood-stained His every tread,
Cross-laden, on He sped – For me.”
There was human pity at the cross; medicated wine was offered the Sufferer by gentle hands. But He refused to take the stupefying draught. He would not lessen in the smallest degree his pain as the world’s Redeemer, and He would not enter the great mystery of death with faculties dulled.
Terrible as were the sufferings of Christ on His cross, we think of Him not with pity, but with adoration. What we see is the Lamb of God bearing the sin of the world.

Need a Revealer of Love
Whatever makes us forget ourselves and think of others lifts us upward. This is one reason that God permits suffering. We would never know the best and richest of human love if there were no pain, no distress, no appeal of grief or of need.
The best and holiest of mother-love would never be brought out if the child never suffered. The same is true of God’s love. God would have loved his children unfallen just as much as he loves them fallen, but the world would never have known so much of God’s love had not man fallen. Our sore need called out all that was richest, holiest, and divinest in our Father’s heart.
If no night came we should never know there are stars. Darkness is a revealer.

Non-woven polypropylene reusable bags are everywhere these days which anyone can buy at a cost next to nothing. But I’ve never bought any from any chain/shop nor shop in a shop that hands them out as shopping bags.
Since these bags are also used as goody + marketing bags for tradeshows/conventions, I was patiently waiting to get one free from any of such events. And it has been quite a long wait…
Last Friday evening, hub came back with this big one from an air-con seminar. The wait is now over.
Wednesday nights, beginning at 9pm, you will find me in front of the TV, watching:
“It’s Me or the Dog” - to witness the amazing transformation on dogs (who have almost taken over their masters’ households) become well-behaved and happy companions. The simple training techniques produce almost-immediate favorable results.
“Meerkat Manor” - an amazing animal tale with storylines fit for a soap opera: enemy battles, courage, tragedies, love and comedy. Cambridge biologists track the daily lives of a family of meerkats living in the Kalahari Desert in Africa.
“The Amazing Race 12″ - I’ll be watching a repeat telecast from Monday’s simulcast. This race certainly makes one ponder, about how we will react should we come under the same kind of pressure.
The amazing journey continues with 7 weird things about me tagged with this award given to me by Isobel. Thank you Isobel!
I’m a spiny-tailed gecko pest buster. To keep the long long story short, I discovered a way to stop a house lizard from entering my apartment and for the last few years, none has been spotted indoors! A documentary I saw on TV about its amazing super-sticky feet provided me with much needed insight to the way this secretive creature moves.
Happy 2008! And thank you everyone for the Christmas and New Year greetings! My heart warms up each time an email that carries a little message from each one of you arrives in my mailbox.
It’s a refreshing start for this new year because of the cool weather. Cool enough to forget about the fan or aircon during the day and during the night, while at home. And cool means 25-27 degree Celsius. Today, I could leave home wearing a particular 100% polyester long-sleeve blouse that would otherwise be untouchable for most part of the year.
Though it won’t be cool enough for me to dress a snowman here, it’s nice to watch others do it. You can download and print a 2008 calendar featuring illustrations by Igloo Dining, including the one above.
Do you count the number of times you say “I love” this and “I love” that? Well, I think not. There are certainly quite a lot of things to love especially when it’s for a very good reason which is exactly why I love these gifts, handemade by Isabelle with me in mind. And they arrived here yesterday, in time for Christmas. This is just so wonderful! She knew I needed a pin cushion though I had not mention it and I have to say this is one of the prettiest and elegant stockings I’ve ever seen. Merci beaucoup Asilis! I really appreciate it and the card as well. The dark chocolate bar wrapped in silver and blue is now in the fridge, awaiting for a tasting session due very soon!
And to all my lovely blog friends, may the full joy of Christmas encourage and enrich you and yours this day and the new year ahead. Have a blessed Christmas!
