Afternoon delight

30th June 2008

Met up with a few good friends on Sunday afternoon. We had drinks + snacks next to this pebble-lined fountain.

There was a lot to catch up…from one who had returned from Cambodia working with pastors in the rural areas and from another who had been to the quake-hit Tianbao village in Sichuan with a medical team. We heard updates on a long-lost friend who was found through Facebook, then from another who’s got a new property and what else is happening to our other friends…you know, all that stuff!

When we finally looked at our watches, it was time for dinner! We happily adjourned to another spot for crepes.

Wedge comfort

19th June 2008

The pale sand on the left pair ‘disappears’ into my skin, just the kind of shoe colour I like. For several weeks it has been pretty comfortable…but lately there’s an unhappy bunion on my right foot, making it very painful to even take the next step.

Well, I’m happy to have found the pink pair which is more comfortable, has a slightly wider heel which gives the wedge base more stability. I can walk for miles without much discomfort. And there’s another bonus, it doesn’t slip off easily. I can now chase after the train or anyone with ease!

If only the pink can be switched to pale sand and if only I had seen this latter pair first, I wouldn’t have to buy and then part with the floral pair.

Floor windows

16th June 2008

These windows are on the open ground of an art college.

The windows look into the basement.

Hub wanted our heads to reflect a heart shape.

This city campus sits next to the computer mart, hub’s favorite hangout, which means we must have walked by these windows countless times without knowing they were what they are.

Stairs + Mt Sophia

1st June 2008

After an early dinner, hub and I decided to walk up these 117(?) steps just to walk down to our car parked at the foot of Mount Sophia. We took the long route to enjoy a quiet walk, with some greenery and a mix of old + modern apartments and apartments-in-progress to view along the slope.

What’s nice about parking at the foot is that it’s free for the whole day on Sundays and though it’s not like you’ll find a parking lot immediately, we feel it’s better than to be stuck in the looong waiting line to the nearby multi-storey car park.

I’ll be sending the BBs with some bloom zakka to Liz and Denise! Thanks to everyone who joined in the contest fun, I appreciate your support!
