3 original Blurb books
[Chapter: photo makeup]While browsing through entries for this year’s photo book competition at Blurb, I was attracted to these 3 books because of their originality.
Left to right, top to bottom:
893 Magazine – The Yakuza in Tokyo by Anton Kusters tells the story of two brothers who gained unprecedented access to the Yakuza that controls the heart of Shinjuku in Tokyo.
Orthodox Jewish Life by Andrew Aitchison shows an honest reflection of a community that is often perceived to live in a closed and insular world. For the past 5 years Andrew has been living and working amongst the Orthodox Jewish Community of Stamford Hill, London.
Thrownology by Matt Flores is imaginative and fun. Inspired by Philippe Halsman’s Jumpology photography series, the images photographically represent various sayings, idioms, puns, and other turns of phrase based on the idiosyncracies of the English language.
You know something? I’m in the mist of toiling to get my own Blurb book out!
