At this time there are already many Christmas trees showing up in all ways possible and that includes this one from Godiva. With tempting truffles decorated like this, the tree will be barren in no time. Yum yum…

From now until Christmas, I’ll be putting up a different unique tree (or trees) every week for yours and mine viewing pleasure.

The Smil-ring by re+g is one of the most entertaining calendars I’ve seen this year.

I like to collect and try out various ideas for gift packaging and one of which I’ve been contemplating on experimenting was making my own decorative paper doilies. I came up with this non-elaborate easy version, which is essentially like cutting a snowflake. I did:

1. Follow these 5 steps first on a piece of square to reach this stage.

2. Use a round base to draw a curve, as shown.

3. Trim to get scallop edge.

4. Spread out the folds, mark (in red) where the centre of a circle should be.

5. Then punch holes.

6-7. Fold back up. Make cuts on opposite sides.

8. Reveal.

Just like the numerous snowflake patterns out there, there are also many ways to invent pretty lacy cutouts.

Falling in love with these charming pre-cut buildings by Editions Mirontaine is easy, for they undoubtedly make you recall the time (or wish) you were standing right there in an old quarter in some part of Europe.

Here are some of the prettiest sola (tapioca wood) flower diffusers I’ve ever seen, in a pretty shop called Pole Pole, in Kyoto.

Each petal gradually changes colour as it soaks up the fragrance oil. How very delightful!
